Elizabeth Lowery

Experienced Speech and Language Pathologist

About

After graduating from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in speech and hearing science, Elizabeth Lowery earned her master's degree in communication disorders from Governor's State University. Subsequently, she launched her career as a speech and language pathologist for Group One. In this position, Elizabeth Lowery traveled across Michigan and Indiana, serving adults and children in numerous hospitals and health care systems.

For several years, she continued her work in the field with the Chicago Public Schools where she assessed the needs of children in preschool through middle school and provided treatment for those with a variety of cognitive, developmental, and neurologic diagnoses. Then in 2001, she became self-employed, contracting her services as a speech and language pathologist with Chicagoland hospitals.

Six years later, Elizabeth Lowery founded Little You, Inc., which offers services ranging from speech and occupational therapy to language and social groups. The building she had constructed for the company earned the 2014 AIA Chicago Small Projects Award for its architectural design.
